Under a suspicious cloud of allegations, Patrick Lambke, the Black Knight™, has been banned from competing in the heavy armor joust at the Long's Peak Scottish Irish Highlands Festival - an event in which he has been participating and promoting for 15 years.
Speaking from the heart, I believe Patrick represents the highest ideals of a jousting tournament. It would truly be a disservice to Patrick, his fans and patrons of the festival to not allow his entry for the 2012 competition.
If there is any doubt as to his character and whether he should be allowed to compete, let that matter be decided in the way of noble knights - in a trial by combat on the field of battle. Speaking as a patron and fan, I would find that adjudication both enjoyable and just.
